Collaborative Robotics for Intelligent Manufacturing

Abstract

Unlike conventional industrial robots that operate in isolated workspaces, collaborative robots are designed to safely interact and cooperate with humans within shared environments. As a result, collaborative robotics has progressed rapidly in recent years, significantly expanding its application scope, particularly in the manufacturing sector. This presentation will showcase recent research advances in collaborative robotics, covering key areas such as core component design (e.g., high-performance torque motors, precision anti-backlash planetary gear reducers, and back-drivable joint modules), system integration, self-calibration, compliant motion control, human-robot interaction, and application development. These research efforts are critical for enhancing robot performance and enabling broader adoption of collaborative robots in manufacturing environments.
